Sustainability

"In engineering, efficiency and sustainability are paramount."

Philip is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional who has served as the engineer of record on residential and commercial LEED certified buildings. LEED is a green building rating and third-party certification system. LEED was developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and it is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. Please reference this link for more information on LEED Certification.

Redleaf Engineering's office is located in a USGBC LEED Gold Certified building. The new building uses many environmentally friendly practices such as a Geo-Thermal heating/cooling system, 45.8% reduction in energy consumption, 80% landfill waste diversion and low or no V.O.C interior finishes.

Redleaf Engineering offsets its office power consumption by purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (REC's). Purchasing REC's means that the energy we use is added to the power grid from a renewable energy facility and supports the further development of these facilities. Please reference this link for more information on REC's.
